Kalamazoo County RACES
Interoperability 101:

Amateur Radio to CB and FRS/GMRS interface:

Natural or man-made disasters may cause major disruptions to telephone and other forms of telecommunication.
Kalamazoo County RACES Radio operators will be in direct  radio contact with local public safety agencies.
At our discretion, RACES members will periodically check for, and report incidents to public safety via the appropriate communications system.
CB channel 9 will be monitored by RACES as a call channel. Communications will then move to the assigned channel.
CB channel numbers for Townships will correspond to the county fire department numbering system. (with Comstock using channel 29)

FRS channel 9 and GMRS channel 1 may be used to coordinate with the public and or CERT teams.

Kalamazoo County RACES  has the capability to relay via VHF public safety and MPSCS.
